The second edition of the thesis competition on public finance is now open

We want young people to take an interest in public finance – not only because it’s part of our Institute’s mission, but because it’s about our shared future. Understanding how public finances work is essential for responsible and well-thought-out economic governance.

That’s why – just like last year – we are organizing a competition for the best thesis on public finance.
Last year’s edition showed us that many young people are passionate about exploring this field. We received a number of high-quality submissions that stood out not only for their substance, but also for their fresh perspective on the challenges facing the economy.

That’s why we invite you – students – to take part in this year’s edition of the competition.

If your undergraduate or graduate thesis explores a topic related to public finance, includes original research, or highlights interesting economic or social contexts – share your knowledge with us.

Cash prizes of 5,000 PLN will be awarded to the best bachelor’s and master’s theses.
We are accepting submissions until October 31, 2025.

The 2nd edition of the competition is held under the honorary patronage of:
Professor Piotr Wachowiak, Rector of SGH Warsaw School of Economics,
and Senator Kazimierz Kleina, Chair of the Senate Committee on Budget and Public Finance.
