“Pharmacies for Pharmacists” Act: The Impact of Pharmacy Market Regulation in Poland

Halting the decline in the number of pharmacies, improving access to medicines, increasing competitiveness — and with it, lower drug prices and higher service standards — as well as restoring the basic rights of entrepreneurs operating in the pharmacy market: all of this requires a comprehensive reform of the pharmacy market in Poland.

An analysis of the current situation and proposals for change, drawing on the deregulation of the Italian market, have been presented by the Institute of Public Finance in its  report “Pharmacies for Pharmacists”: Act: The Impact of Pharmacy Market Regulation in Poland.

The study “Pharmacies for Pharmacists”: The Impact of Pharmacy Market Regulation in Poland, which examines the effects of a hypothetical deregulation of the Polish pharmacy market, was commissioned by the Pharmacy Employers’ Association PharmaNET and the Lewiatan Confederation.
