The Public Finance Institute (IFP) will participate in the 16th European Financial Congress, taking place in Sopot on 1–3 June 2026. We are proud to serve as an institutional partner of this event.
This year’s edition of the Congress is dedicated to two key themes: security – in the context of a growing number of armed conflicts, hybrid threats and attacks on critical infrastructure – and the competitiveness of European and Polish economies in a changing global landscape.
As part of the Congress, the latest annual edition of the report Threats of Excessive Public Debt will be launched. The report is prepared by the Institute of Responsible Finance in cooperation with the Friendly Country Foundation and the Public Finance Institute.
Published annually since 2021, the report provides an in-depth assessment of the condition of Poland’s public finances. It analyses the factors driving public debt growth, debt servicing costs, the risks associated with excessive deficits, and the challenges arising from increased defence spending.
The authors of this year’s edition are Ludwik Kotecki, Member of the Monetary Policy Council and Chair of the IFP Programme Council, Prof. Paweł Wojciechowski, President of the Management Board of the Public Finance Institute, and Marek Skawiński, Chief Economist at the XYZ news portal.
